Value Stream Manager

This Value Stream Manager role requires a servant leader with strong LEAN manufacturing expertise and a background in both manufacturing engineering and operational leadership. You'll be responsible for optimizing an assigned value stream, mentoring teams, and driving continuous improvement to meet customer expectations and eliminate waste within a fast-paced environment.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Value Stream Manager:

  • Lead and Optimize Value Stream Operations: Provide full oversight for assigned value streams, ensuring efficient production and meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
  • Implement and Champion LEAN Methodologies: Drive continuous improvement by applying LEAN principles, developing standard work, eliminating waste, and using data-driven problem-solving (scientific method).
  • Mentor and Develop Teams: Foster empowerment and problem-solving skills in Group Leaders and Team Leaders through servant leadership, coaching, and training on standard work adherence.
  • Drive Process Improvement through Engineering Theory: Serve as a Manufacturing Engineering mentor, leveraging fundamental engineering theory to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally for Strategic Alignment: Work with internal stakeholders (e.g., Sales, HR, Supply Chain) and external customers to align on vision, strategy, and plans for business needs and new product development.

Profile

The succesful candidate looks like:

  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another STEM discipline, providing a strong technical foundation for process analysis and improvement.
  • Possesses proven leadership experience in both Manufacturing Engineering and operational leadership, demonstrating a track record of successfully managing complex production systems within a LEAN environment.
  • Embodies servant leadership principles, skilled at mentoring and empowering teams to adhere to standard work, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
