Audio Visual (AV) Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Audio Visual (AV) Engineer to join a growing Financial Services firm in Midtown Manhattan, working fully onsite. This role focuses on rapid incident response, proactive maintenance, and technical support across Cisco-based executive boardrooms, trading floors, conference rooms, and high-profile collaboration spaces.

Description

  • Break/Fix & Incident Response: Diagnose and resolve AV hardware/software issues, provide rapid onsite support for conference room outages, and troubleshoot endpoints, codecs, DSPs, cameras, microphones, and control systems across Cisco-based environments.

  • Audiovisual Operations & Event Support: Perform daily room readiness checks, maintain SLAs via ServiceNow, run validation tests after repairs, and deliver hands-on support for executive meetings and high-profile events.

  • Collaboration & Hardware Expertise: Provide break/fix support for Cisco Webex endpoints, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, SIP/H.323 gateways, and integrated cloud/on-prem platforms; maintain AV hardware including Biamp, QSC, Extron, Crestron, Shure, Sennheiser, PTZ cameras, displays, and video distribution systems.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Adhere to change management and ITIL/ITSM workflows, maintain detailed ticketing and worklogs, and ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance across enterprise environments.

Profile

  • Experience: 5+ years in AV engineering or break/fix support with strong troubleshooting skills across codecs, control systems, audio, and video; familiarity with AV-over-IP and executive environments.

  • Certifications (Preferred): Cisco CCNA Collaboration, AVIXA CTS/CTS-D/CTS-I, CEDIA, plus Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, ITIL Foundation, and CompTIA Network+.

  • Technology Skills: Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, SIP/H.323, Crestron/QSC/Biamp DSPs, video distribution (HDMI, SDVoE, Dante AV), and audio networking (Dante).

  • Networking & Compliance: Knowledge of AV network segmentation, QoS, and adherence to ITIL/ITSM and cybersecurity standards.
