Engineering Manager- Industrial Plastics- Nashua, NH
The Engineering Manager will lead the development and optimization of plastics manufacturing processes, including molding, extrusion, and material flow, to ensure efficiency, quality, and scalability. This role combines technical expertise in polymer processing with automation leadership to drive continuous improvement, reduce cycle times, and integrate advanced technologies across production lines.

Description
- Lead and manage plastics process engineering and automation projects to optimize molding and secondary operations.
- Identify and implement polymer processing improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce scrap, and maintain tight tolerances in plastic components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute automation strategies for injection molding and material handling systems.
- Ensure compliance with plastics industry safety standards, regulatory requirements, and material specifications in all engineering processes.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for plastic molding processes, tooling setups, and automated systems.
- Train and mentor team members on plastics processing techniques, mold maintenance, and automation best practices to support professional growth.
- Monitor and analyze plastics production performance data, including cycle times, material utilization, and quality metrics, to identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for plastics-specific equipment procurement, mold tooling, and maintenance services.

Profile
A successful Engineering Manager should have:
- Strong understanding of plastics manufacturing processes, particularly hands-on injection molding, mold setup, and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage complex process and automation projects effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resin selection, cycle time optimization, and defect reduction.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for process monitoring, automation control, and mold design.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders while providing technical training and guidance.
