Lead Controls Technician | Robotics
Our client is looking for a talented individual with 3-5 years of electrical controls experience, with an expertise in system troubleshooting and programming. Must understand electrical design.

Our client designs, fabricates, and delivers both pre‑engineered and custom automation cells suited for welding applications. Their systems typically include robotic arms (ABB, KUKA), part positioners, tooling, safety frameworks, and welding systems like Fronius-with flexibility tailored to diverse manufacturing needs.
Description
Essential Duties
- Work with our integration and engineering departments and provide technical guidance to ensure comprehensive design packages are developed leading ultimately to the efficient production of high quality products.
- Support product design criteria and testing methodologies.
- Responsible for the accuracy of electrical system integration and the quality and reliability of the controls system.
- Participate in new design and modification projects.
- Communicate with manufacturing and assembly to resolve conflicts, review designs, and incorporate suggestions for improvement.
- Support sales effort in the design and proposal of new business opportunities.
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of our programing and integration activities with our manufacturing and field technicians to support customer system issues. Troubleshoot controls or electrical issues and coordinate with field technicians to get customers back up and running.
Profile
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in a technical field a plus.
- 3-5 years of electrical controls and PLC programming (Omron preferred).
- Industrial robotics experience a plus (ABB, KUKA, Motoman, Panasonic).
- Industrial controls network experience, i.e. DeviceNet, EtherNet, EtherNet/IP.
- Understanding of manipulator arms and operation.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with little oversight.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate with both internal and external customers.
- Responsible, organized, and dedicated with strong organizational skills.
- Highly motivated.
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and with ease.
- Ability to travel on an as needed basis.
