Contract Litigation Counsel - Financial Services
The Contract Litigation Counsel will handle a wide range of financial services litigation matters for a well-known bank.
Client Details
This opportunity is with a financial services client in New York City.
Description
- Handle and manage financial services litigation matters, including contract disputes and regulatory issues.
- Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Collaborate with external counsel to ensure effective case management and representation.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the financial services industry.
- Support employment law matters as needed, leveraging expertise to address workplace-related disputes.
- Advise on litigation strategy and assist in preparing for hearings, trials, and mediations.
- Foster strong working relationships across departments to provide cohesive legal support.

Profile
A successful Contract Litigation Counsel should have:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York or Texas State Bar in good standing.
- Extensive experience in financial services litigation, including contract disputes.
- Familiarity with employment law, with prior exposure considered a plus.
- Background in a large law firm, demonstrating the ability to manage complex litigation matters.
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A proactive approach to legal problem-solving and risk management.
Job Offer
- Hourly compensation estimated at $60-$75, depending on experience and qualifications.
- 4-6 month contract beginning end of October.
