Estimator | DSA Construction | Santa Rosa

The Precon Manager/Estimator will oversee pre-construction activities, including estimating and budgeting for projects within the modular DSA construction industry. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Description

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for DSA and public works projects (primarily K-12)
• Perform quantity take-offs, analyze drawings/specifications, and prepare accurate cost breakdowns
• Collaborate with design and project management teams during preconstruction to ensure accurate budgets and scopes
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Assist in value engineering efforts to meet client budgets and project goals
• Support ongoing project cost tracking and forecasting as needed

Profile

A successful Precon Manager/Estimator should have:

• 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial or public works construction
• Experience with K-12 schools, DSA projects, or modular construction preferred
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contracts
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel; design-build experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
