Project Manager
My clinet is a Detroit-based general contractor specializing in complex projects across the Midwest. With decades of experience in K-12 construction, they pride themselves on delivering innovative learning environments that positively impact students, staff, and the broader community. Their team is collaborative, driven, and committed to excellence in every project we deliver.
Client Details
They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead K-12 construction projects in the Detroit area. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise managing ground-up and renovation projects in the education sector, along with strong leadership skills to drive project success from preconstruction through closeout.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all phases of K-12 construction projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Lead and mentor project teams, including project engineers, assistant PMs, and superintendents.
Collaborate with school districts, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on project goals.
Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, and change orders.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations at all times.
Foster long-term client relationships through communication, trust, and performance.
Profile
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years managing K-12 construction projects.
Strong background in budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
