Global Director of Procurement & Planning
The Global Director of Procurement & Planning directs and coordinates all supply chain activities with the primary objective of exceeding customer expectations and improving quality and cost. They need an effective leader that provides leadership, creativity, direction, and development to strategic sourcing, planning, and procurement staff in a manner that compliments the company's strategic directive.

Description
Customer Service Mindset

Director of Procurement
- Participates in the development and implementation of strategic objectives.
- Drives the identification and implementation of strategic sourcing and planning opportunities with goals of positively impacting customer service, revenue, quality, and profitability.
- Demonstrates excellent negotiation skills, contract and agreement experience, and understanding of applicable market dynamics.
- Leverages the value of meeting in person with interested parties to develop great partnerships.
- Organizes all resources and sets clearly defined expectations.
- Leads and participates in meetings effectively to promote exceptional results.
- Manages costs to budgets to either meet or exceed expectations.
- Develops and manages supplier relationships and agreements for mutual benefit.
- Innovates and creates opportunities both internally and externally to advance customer service, expand product offerings, and enhance profitability.
- Performs to, identifies, and develops key metrics to support progress.
- Effectively supports the daily operations of strategic sourcing and planning.
- Practices and maintains responsiveness to inquiries both internally and externally.
- Meets or exceeds deadlines while communicating effectively.
- Supports and provides training and development for all direct and indirect report employees.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to business responsibilities.

- Represents the company in a positive, professional manner when working with suppliers, customers, carriers, service providers, and other employees.
- Assists with other projects or tasks as assigned by the Senior Vice President of Operations.
- Takes initiative to solve challenges or seek solutions to recurring challenges with suppliers, employees, and customers.
- Ensures compliance with Employee Handbook, Healthy & Safety and Quality Manual, and Driver Rules.
- Ensures compliance with federal and/or state laws, regulations.
- Use good time management skills and work effectively with all members of the team.
Profile
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of senior management/director experience with a record of excellence.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing to internal and external parties.
- Proficient in team building, motivation, time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to measure against standards, communicate performance issues, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Advanced Microsoft Office, with emphasis in Project, Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations regarding warehouse management.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and maintain strict deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to see a job or project through to final completion.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education and/or Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Procurement (Planning and Strategic Sourcing) experience at both management and director levels is preferred.
- Additional professional certifications and licenses are preferred.
Job Offer
- $150,000 - $180,000 base salary range
- Annual bonus threshold paid out quarterly
- Hybrid work model - some weeks fully remote, other weeks a few times a week onsite in North OC HQ office
- Will consider fully remote candidates outside of Southern California (depending on experience)
