Electronics - Electrical Engineer - Stoughton, MA
My client is seeking an experienced electrical engineer with 10-12 years of expertise to become a key member of their Engineering team. This individual will be responsible for the complete design process of boards and backplanes, from schematic capture to assembly release. The role involves selecting the right components, ensuring the functionality of board products within chassis designs, and verifying the interface between boards and chassis wiring.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Creating electrical schematics that illustrate the integration of backplane and peripheral I/O subsystems within embedded computing enclosures.
- Overseeing board layout processes, including the development of library parts, in collaboration with designated layout personnel.
- Preparing bill of materials (BOMs) and other essential manufacturing documentation.
- Conducting design verification and ensuring the completion of all necessary documentation.
- Offering support throughout the manufacturing of board and backplane assemblies, as well as during chassis integration.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Schematic Capture: Proficiency in schematic capture systems, preferably Mentor Graphics DxDesigner or Cadence Orcad
- Design Experience: Strong background in backplane and board design, power distribution systems, and component research
- Component Libraries: Experience in creating and maintaining component libraries
- PCB Knowledge: Solid understanding of printed circuit board design, layout, and manufacturing processes
- High-Speed Design: Experience with high-speed board design (greater than 10Gig) strongly preferred
- EMI/ESD Management: Expertise in designing to minimize EMI and ESD issues
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with customers regarding system engineering and architecture
- Customer Support: Skilled in collaborating with customers to resolve field issues
- Circuit Design: In-depth knowledge of both digital and analog circuit design
- Multitasking: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to changing priorities and tight deadlines
