Construction Project Manager - Ground Up - New Jersey

A leading general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee ground-up construction projects in the commercial and industrial sectors throughout Central and Northern New Jersey. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep knowledge of field operations, scheduling, budgeting, and client relationships.

Description

• Manage all phases of ground-up construction projects from preconstruction through closeout

• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation

• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and quality execution

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and local building codes

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and consultants

• Lead project meetings and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders

• Identify risks and resolve issues proactively to keep projects on track

Profile

• 10+ years of experience managing ground-up commercial or industrial construction projects

• Proven ability to manage multiple mid-size projects or one large-scale job ($10M-$50M+)

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Procore), budgeting, and contract negotiation

• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable managing both field and office aspects of construction

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
