Superintendent - Federal Construction - Chicago

Our client is looking for a sharp construction superintendent to work on upcoming projects in the public sector. Client Details

Client is a strong construction general contractor that is continuing to expand their project portfolio. They have a history of over 25 years in the market with much success across different government clients. They have recently picked up several projects that will keep their pipeline strong through 2025.

Description

  • Primary site leader of all subordinate superintendents, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Establish project plan, maintain weekly progress and pulse of project.
  • Manage and coordinate all job site operations.
  • Manage labor and subcontractors to ensure work quality and on-time delivery of services.
  • Maintain positive relationship with Owners, Design Consultants, and PM's.
  • Coordinate with local jurisdiction inspectors and utility company representatives to ensure compliance.
  • Strictly enforce Safety Program and manage the Quality Control Program
  • Prepare and maintain detailed short-term schedules.
  • Manage accurate invoice payment process and financial management of the project costs.
  • Resolve day to day field issues.
  • Prepare daily reports with all manpower and significant activities.

Profile

  • 6+ years of experience working in the construction industry as superintendent
  • Ground up construction experience preferred
  • Experience in municipal construction preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated individual with ability to work in a team setting
  • Knowledge in Construction Management or related field, preferred
  • Experience with projects over $1M

Job Requirements:

Manage day-to-day activities to meet project milestones and ultimately meet or beat project completion date.
Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
Has knowledge and experience with other trades scope of work.
Maintain daily and weekly logs of construction progress
Maintain job-site safety, health and cleanliness
Daily inspection of construction site to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations.
Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to produce issues and plan coordination problems prior to beginning construction of the project.
Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, subcontractors, and clients
Ensure project documentation and reports are complete
Attend all necessary job-site meetings, whether on-site or off-site
Manage the punch lists and close out of the project
