Senior Accountant | Consumer Goods | Humboldt Park, IL
I'm partnered with the Controller at a growing privately-held, multi-million dollar company located near Humboldt Park, IL. This company is a leader in the CPG industry, specializing in the production and distribution of food products, with a focus on quality and innovation. They offer a wide range of food items, including canned goods, frozen foods, and snacks. They are now looking to bring on a Senior Accountant with short-term and long-term opportunities for career advancement within their growing organization!
Client Details
This role is with a fast-growing company in the CPG industry, specializing in the production and distribution of food products, with a focus on quality and innovation. They offer a wide range of food items, including canned goods, frozen foods, and snacks. Located near Humboldt Park, IL, they are now looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to their growing team! In this position you will be exposed to various areas within the overall accounting operations. You will play a pivotal role in the month-end close process, assist with the budget process, help develop product costs for potential new products, and assist in the analysis of inventory and monthly production variances.
Description
- Process payroll and manage monthly accrual entries
- Oversee periodic reporting to lenders
- Reconcile general ledger accounts with monthly statements
- Manage and maintain the standard cost system
- Calculate product costs for potential new product launches
- Support analysis of monthly production variances
- Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes as needed
- Prepare journal entries and generate various financial reports
- Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process
- Help review and improve internal controls and policies
- Support bank and external audit procedures
- Assist in developing KPIs and profitability metrics
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting
- Manufacturing Industry experience required
- Cost Accounting and/or Inventory Accounting experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- ERP system experience preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail
