Position Overview:
My client is seeking an Assistant Preconstruction Manager to join their team in Ashburn, VA. This role will focus on budgeting, schematic design, and collaboration with the design team throughout the preconstruction process. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, preferably in multifamily construction, but experience in senior living, high-rise commercial, or hospitality projects will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing project budgets and performing schematic leveling throughout the design phase.

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and the internal preconstruction team to ensure design alignment with project goals.

  • Support the evaluation and review of drawings, helping refine project details before transitioning to the operations team.

  • Primarily focus on negotiated projects, ensuring cost efficiency and feasibility.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Preconstruction, Preconstruction Executives, and other team members to streamline workflows.

  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical and leadership skills.

Profile

  • 2-5 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or related fields.

  • Background in multifamily, senior living, or commercial high-rise projects preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work through design-phase project development.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in relevant preconstruction software and budgeting tools is a plus
