Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controller to oversee our financial operations. Reporting directly to the owners, the Senior Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of the company, with a specific focus on job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the heavy construction industry, strong analytical skills, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Job Costing: Implement and maintain robust job costing systems to accurately track project costs and profitability.
- Work-in-Progress Reporting: Prepare and present detailed WIP reports to management, ensuring timely and accurate reflection of project status and financial position.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement; provide actionable insights to the owners.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support for project planning and execution.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management within the heavy construction industry.
- Strong expertise in job costing and WIP reporting.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software, if applicable].
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a finance team.
