The process engineer role develops manufacturing documentation, tooling and operations to meet quality requirements for aerospace products

Description
- Provide technical support to the machine shop, paint shop, engineering, and material control teams, ensuring processes are optimized and unnecessary steps are eliminated.
- Collaborate across all organizational levels to advise and train on the setup and operation of machining equipment, resolve tooling issues, and drive process and cost improvements.
- Conduct research and recommend upgrades or replacements for production equipment to enhance capabilities through new technology.
- Evaluate and refine production processes, establish time standards, and optimize equipment setups to improve efficiency, increase utilization, and reduce costs.
- Interpret complex technical drawings and create clear, actionable manufacturing instructions to maintain high-quality production standards.
- Partner with tool designers to create new tooling, repair or improve existing tools, and enhance production support capabilities and outputs.
- Develop lean manufacturing layouts and workflows to maximize efficiency and production output.
- Contribute to advanced projects for new product launches by recommending processes, equipment, and tooling to support prototype manufacturing and initial builds.
- Gather, analyze, and present data to support capital equipment purchases, tooling enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
- Offer technical guidance to internal teams and external customers, addressing process improvements, non-conformance issues, defects, and rework/repair solutions.
Profile
- Proficient in operating machine shop tooling, including lathes, 5-axis machines, and CNC equipment.
- Skilled in hands-on problem-solving within a production floor environment.
- Solid understanding of mechanical assembly processes and techniques.
- Familiarity with machine shop operations, practices, and tool and fixture design.
- Knowledgeable in welding, casting processes, and MIL-SPEC painting standards.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask effectively and collaborate within a team.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
Job Offer
Salary Range: $70K - $120K
