Construction Project Engineer

The Construction Project Engineer (PE) plays a critical role in supporting the Project Manager and field team by handling the technical and administrative aspects of construction projects. This West Palm Beach based contractor is a well-established commercial construction firm specializing in ground-up, tenant improvement, and design-build projects across various sectors, including office, retail, healthcare, education, and industrial. They're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Project Engineer to join their growing team and support the successful execution of complex commercial construction projects.

Description

• Assist in managing project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.

• Track material procurement, delivery schedules, and lead times.

• Support the development and maintenance of project schedules and progress tracking.

• Maintain logs and reports for quality control, safety compliance, and project documentation.

• Participate in jobsite meetings and assist with field coordination between trades.

• Monitor and report on construction progress, helping to identify and resolve delays or issues.

• Assist in preparing close-out documentation, punch lists, and project handovers.

• Work with the Project Manager to ensure all work complies with plans, specs, and codes.

• Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams when needed.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

• 1-4 years of experience in construction project support, preferably in commercial construction.

• Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and documentation.

• Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

• A proactive attitude and ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

• OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
