Manufacturing Engineer II - Electronics - Woburn, MA
Lead the technical support for manufacturing cutting-edge cable and harness products, serving as a pivotal member of the team. You'll spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, from process development and root cause analysis to systematic problem solving and performance metrics. You'll also act as the key engineering liaison, seamlessly interfacing with both internal teams and external clients to drive excellence across all accounts.

My client is a prominent provider of advanced packaging solutions and manufacturing services for the semiconductor industry mostly servicing defense clients. They specialize in delivering cutting-edge technologies and tailored solutions that enhance the efficiency and performance of electronic components.
Description
This role will report directly into the company President and be responsible for:
- Developing programs for production equipment and maintaining routings, Bills of Material, drawings, assembly instructions, and visual aids for order processing and production.
- Providing information for Cable Block Diagrams, assigning cable numbers, and managing cable configuration.
- Interpreting specifications, communicating requirements to the factory, and reviewing engineering packages for approval.
- Analyzing processes, implementing improvements for quality and cost reduction, and determining labor and material needs.
- Developing and documenting procedures and work instructions, and creating tooling and fixturing for production.
- Acting as a technical liaison to resolve issues, coordinate schedules, and manage material availability.
- Reviewing and approving fixture purchase specifications, incorporating change notices, and ensuring accurate quotations and cost evaluations.
- Overseeing accounts for quality and yield, and providing Design for Manufacturing support throughout the product cycle.
- Meeting training requirements and developing secondary fixtures/tooling as needed.
Profile
The successful candidate will have
- 4-6+ years of manufacturing experience with electronic product
- Electro-mechanical background
- Wire, cable harness, or backplane experience preferred
- Contract/ government contract manufacturing exp preferred
- Cost/estimate/ quoting knowledge a plus
- IPC 620 experience preferred
