Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction - Washingtonville, NY
The civil construction company is looking for an Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction - Washingtonville, NY who's passionate about the dirt world and thrives in a fast-paced, field-connected environment. In this role, the Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction - Washingtonville, NY will work directly with the owner to estimate and win major site development projects.

Our client is a civil construction company with a strong reputation for delivering large-scale site development and excavation projects across the Hudson Valley. Their work includes 100+ acre land clearing, demolition, road building, and full-scale site prep for commercial and residential developments. The civil construction company takes pride in their hands-on approach, long-standing client relationships, and commitment to quality.
Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for large-scale site work, excavation, and demolition projects
- Analyze drawings, specs, and site conditions to develop accurate takeoffs and pricing
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Collaborate with the owner and project managers to develop bid strategies
- Assist in project handoff and support field teams with scope clarification
- Maintain historical cost data and help refine estimating tools and processes
Profile
- 3+ years of experience estimating civil/site development projects
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, utilities, and roadwork
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Agtek, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self-starter who enjoys working closely with leadership
