Analyst, Legal and Risk
The role focuses primarily on managing the firm's risk with regards to new business acceptance. This includes: initiating and analysing conflict checks for new matters; conducting customer due diligence and risk assessment of clients and matters; and advising the firm's lawyers on the legal and reputational risks of new business, ensuring at all times that Linklaters' reputation is preserved, and professional rules and relevant laws are complied with.

Description
- Initiate and analyze conflict checks for new business using Intapp Conflicts, working closely with senior team members to identify and resolve legal or commercial conflicts, while ensuring compliance with firm policies and ethical obligations.
- Set up and maintain information barriers to safeguard client confidentiality and ensure that access to sensitive information is appropriately restricted across practice groups and regions.
- Conduct thorough client due diligence (CDD) and anti-money laundering (AML) checks on new clients, as well as proportionate reviews of counterparties, using a risk-based approach aligned with regulatory standards.
- Review, check, and clear submitted matter intake forms to confirm accuracy and compliance, following up with attorneys and staff to address any incomplete or inconsistent data.
- Advise legal teams on a range of business acceptance issues, including client onboarding, AML procedures, sanctions screening, reputational risks, and client identification requirements, with the support of in-house Financial Crime experts when needed.
- Provide guidance on the firm's client engagement policies and procedures, helping lawyers and staff understand and adhere to best practices related to legal and regulatory risk.
- Support internal Legal & Risk projects, including updates to policies, workflows, and knowledge-sharing tools, while assisting in initiatives aimed at improving overall risk management efficiency and consistency.

- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information quickly and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
- A flexible and proactive mindset, with a willingness to take initiative, adapt to shifting priorities, and contribute wherever needed to support team objectives.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment, while also being capable of managing tasks independently and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a systematic approach to managing workflows, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine ability to build relationships across teams, especially in cross-functional, fast-paced, and global working environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with the ability to quickly learn and navigate specialized systems such as Intapp Conflicts and SAP.
