Founded in 1962, this well-established construction firm based in Hanover, MA has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects and maintaining a family-oriented company culture. With approximately 35-40 employees and plans to grow, the company is currently doing $50M-$60M in annual revenue, and had about $80M in their project pipeline for 2023. In 2022, they completed $55M worth of work and continue to maintain a healthy backlog, including an upcoming $9M private project in Walpole, MA and several other projects south and west of Boston. The company bids on a wide range of public and private sector work, including schools, DPWs, police and fire stations, town halls, commercial buildings, and historical renovations.
Description
The Superintendent will be responsible for:
Oversee daily construction site operations to ensure project timelines and safety standards are met.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, laborers, and site staff to maintain productivity and quality.
Communicate project status, issues, and updates to project managers and stakeholders.
Enforce compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety protocols (e.g., OSHA).
Inspect work progress and ensure construction is completed according to design specifications and blueprints.
Schedule and manage deliveries of materials and equipment to avoid project delays.
Identify and resolve onsite issues quickly to minimize disruptions and cost overruns.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, and change orders.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget while maintaining quality standards.
Profile
The succesful candidate will have:
10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in public construction
Strong background in Ground-Up municipal projects such as Town Halls, Fire Stations, Police Departments, DPWs, and Libraries
Proven track record delivering projects in the $15M-$35M range
Skilled in Critical Path Method scheduling and focused on schedule accuracy and project delivery
Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Procore
Tech-forward and comfortable using modern construction management tools
