Director, EPC / Project Manager - Battery Plant Construction
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Management Leader to oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of large-scale battery materials manufacturing facilities. Following successful delivery, this role will expand to include additional projects valued at $150M+, with a full site build-out projected to reach $3.5B over several years.

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of project execution: permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Build and scale an internal project development team and regional office.
- Implement robust cost controls, including budget vs. actual and cost-to-complete analysis.
- Manage external contractors and consultants to ensure alignment with industry standards and project goals.
- Develop bid packages, oversee contractor selection, and administer contracts.
- Maintain project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics; report to executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance.
- Identify and mitigate project risks; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company professionally within the community as required.
Profile
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of capital projects exceeding $500M.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams of 20+ direct reports.
- Track record of delivering complex industrial or battery-related projects on time and within budget.
- Strong experience managing multiple contractors and construction crews.
- Expertise in competitive bid processes and contract administration.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Self-directed with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in battery materials, graphite anode production, or advanced energy storage manufacturing.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting and regulatory frameworks.
- Strategic mindset with ability to scale project operations and build organizational capability.
- Degree in Project Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
