Key responsibilities of the Senior Project Engineer - Public Works Construction

• Work closely with project managers and field teams to coordinate all aspects of building and construction, ensuring school projects are delivered on time and within budget.

• Take a lead role in managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders to keep documentation accurate and up to date.

• Support preconstruction tasks such as estimating, bidding, and value engineering, particularly on a growing pipeline of K-12 and higher education projects driven by newly passed funding measures.

• Ensure all work complies with project plans, specs, and DSA requirements through detailed review and proactive problem-solving.

• Collaborate with superintendents and subcontractors daily to maintain quality control, safety standards, and effective communication on-site.

Profile

A successful Senior Project Engineer - Public Works Construction candidate will have:

• Proven experience supporting commercial or public works construction projects, ideally with exposure to K-12 or higher education builds.

• Strong understanding of construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and scheduling tools like Procore or Bluebeam.
