Description
Key Responsibilities - Traveling MEP Project Manager
- Lead all project management activities for large‑scale, design‑heavy MEP scopes on complex construction projects across multiple regions
- Manage project budgets, financial performance, forecasts, cost controls, and reporting for MEP packages typically $20M+
- Oversee subcontractors, engineering partners, and field teams to ensure quality installation, schedule alignment, and system integration
- Drive coordination efforts for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems with engineering, design partners, and GC teams
- Act as the primary client‑facing representative for all MEP‑related communications, issues, and progress updates
- Lead internal and external meetings, facilitate problem‑solving discussions, and proactively navigate challenges
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, design intent, and installation standards for complex building systems
- Mentor assistant project managers and project engineers, contributing to people development and team growth
- Support business development efforts through relationship building, technical expertise, and project excellence
- Travel consistently to project locations with the option to relocate to a local office in the future
Profile
Required Qualifications - Traveling MEP Project Manager
- Technical degree strongly preferred (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, etc.)
- Experience managing $20M+ MEP scopes on complex commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, or IDP projects
- Strong financial acumen - forecasting, cost management, budgets, and project financial controls
- 7+ years in construction project management (PM level and above), with proven people management and mentorship skills
- Excellent client‑facing communication skills and the ability to develop long‑term partnerships
- Coachable, team‑oriented, and aligned with a relationship‑driven culture
- Business development experience is a plus
