Client Details
Our client is a reputable General Contractor serving South Florida working on projects throughout the commercial space. They are seeking a traveling QC Manager that is able to work on high intensity work throughout the US. They have an upcoming project on a naval base and also work on public, aviation, k12, etc.
Description
- Quality Assurance Oversight: Monitor and assess all phases of construction projects to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and industry standards. Implement and maintain a comprehensive quality control program to address issues promptly and effectively.
- Document Control: Develop and manage a systematic document control process for construction plans, specifications, submittals, and inspection reports. Maintain an organized record of all project documentation for easy access and reference.
- Inspection and Testing: Coordinate and conduct regular inspections, audits, and testing of materials, workmanship, and processes to verify compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards. Address any identified deviations and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Safety Compliance: Collaborate with the safety team to ensure that all construction activities adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and industry best practices. Identify potential safety hazards and work with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee the quality control efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors involved in the construction projects. Ensure their work aligns with project specifications and quality standards.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues that arise during construction promptly. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Reporting and Communication: Generate comprehensive quality control reports, including progress updates, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans. Communicate quality-related matters to project teams, management, and clients as needed.
- Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the understanding of quality control principles and practices among project personnel. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices and lessons learned.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities adhere to relevant local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards. Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and requirements that may impact construction quality.
Profile
- B.S. degree in engineering, architecture or construction management
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or industrial general contractor engaged in general building construction.
- Must be familiar with high & medium voltage electrical and the requirements of the EM 385-1-1.
- Strong working knowledge of civil, architectural, mechanical, and electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules.
- Good understanding of project change administration and the effect of the quality aspects of the project.
- Solid understanding of means and methods of construction for civil project work and/or the renovation of commercial and industrial facilities.
- Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
