Industrial - Chief Metallurgist - Amherst, NH
Lead the metallurgical and materials engineering function, developing and implementing advanced metallurgical processes to support product development and manufacturing. Manage the metallography lab and provide technical expertise for process improvements, product qualification, failure analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and operations teams.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage metallurgical process development and lab operations, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and manufacturing standards.
- Support operations with new product qualification, failure investigations, and cost reduction projects.
- Serve as technical expert for materials science issues, liaising between R&D, production, customers, and suppliers.
- Implement continuous improvements and evaluate new manufacturing technologies.
- Maintain accurate records to support intellectual property and compliance requirements.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- BS or MS in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering with 7+ years' relevant experience.
- Proven expertise in specialty alloys, metallurgical principles, and manufacturing applications.
- Strong communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with continuous improvement methods (Kaizen, Six Sigma) and metallographic testing.
- Ability to interpret complex specifications and balance production with development needs
