Description
- Lead daily activities of the quality inspection team, ensuring timely incoming, in‑process, and final inspections
- Support inspectors resolving nonconformances and interpreting requirements
- Coordinate customer source inspections
- Oversee training on blueprint reading, inspection criteria, equipment usage, and documentation
- Partner with Engineering and Production to reduce variation and streamline processes
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and employee development
- Maintain a culture focused on compliance, ethics, and continuous improvement
- Monitor changes to customer and regulatory standards
- Provide audit support to Quality teams
- Track inspection turnaround times and prepare metrics
- Review and approve quality documentation; generate Certificates of Conformance
- Perform inspections as needed
- Collaborate with HR and other teams to build effective training programs
- Oversee FAA repair station and ATP documentation scheduling
- Identify and drive improvements to workflows, processes, and tools
Profile
- 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing
- 1-2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, and aerospace regulatory standards
- Strong understanding of inspection methods and tools (e.g., handheld gages, comparators, FARO arms, height stands)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and record‑keeping skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality systems
- Knowledge of quality fundamentals, lean principles, and continuous improvement
- Ability to guide teams through change with a transformational leadership style
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- DQR certification is a plus
