Principal Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to lead the 2025 RemUS Infra EOL Remediation program, responsible for upgrading storage and backup infrastructure, migrating systems, and developing automation solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Perl, Java, Python, and database management, with experience in large-scale financial environments and a strong focus on automation and system integration.

Description

• Engineer solutions to upgrade EOL ESX/VSI platform environments and thin client services, ensuring compliance with private/public cloud standards and application requirements.

• Collaborate with global platform architects, application owners, and SMEs to design, document, and execute migration plans for infrastructure upgrades.

• Develop and manage complex planning cycles with global teams, ensuring smooth implementation of solutions based on global OneBank standards without service outages or application impacts.

• Lead and implement production cutover events, requiring weekend availability, while maintaining strong relationships with application and security teams to align on strategic priorities.

Profile

• Extensive expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Unix/Linux, VMWare, DNS, Infoblox, Messaging, and Database management, with a focus on finance and banking applications, security, and vulnerabilities.

• Proficiency in JavaScript, SQL, Python, Jenkins, GITLab/Hub, and automation pipelines, with a strong background in system engineering and software development.

• Proven experience in migrating EOL infrastructure, implementing complex global solutions, and ensuring zero service interruptions or impacts to applications.

• Ability to collaborate across teams, including application owners, security teams, and infrastructure specialists, while managing production cutovers and aligning with strategic OneBank priorities.
