They are looking for a Quality Manager (Aerospace) to lead quality assurance efforts, manage technical documentation, ensure ISO compliance, and drive process optimization in their Syracuse, NY facility. The role also involves supporting production and collaborating with customers on quality-related issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality management, ISO standards, and team leadership, with an engineering background. Description
- Oversee quality assurance and control processes to ensure product compliance with industry standards at the Syracuse, NY facility
- Manage and review technical documentation, including drawings and data packages
- Lead the development and maintenance of work instructions and production support materials
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, including AS9100, and conduct internal audits
- Support the production team with tooling, assembly processes, and process optimization
- Interface with customers on quality issues and manage corrective action reports
- Conduct inspections and ensure calibration of quality equipment per manufacturer guidelines
- Develop and implement training programs for manufacturing and quality procedures
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variation and optimize workflows
- Collaborate on technical planning, system integration, and validation for production systems
- Review and approve documentation for production support and customer deliveries
- Support technical meetings and ensure alignment with customer requirements and schedules
Profile
The Quality Manager (Aerospace) candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in quality management or engineering
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards, including AS9100
- Experience in quality assurance and control processes
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting system diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with Military mechanical and electrical drawings
- Ability to develop and maintain technical documentation and work instructions
- Strong problem-solving skills in production and process development
- Experience with production support, tooling, and assembly processes
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and SolidWorks (or similar software)
- Ability to lead and train teams, with excellent organizational skills
- Experience in customer interactions and managing corrective action reports
- Understanding of calibration and inspection procedures for quality equipment
