Automation & Controls Engineer - Concord, NH
The Controls Engineer focuses on designing and implementing sophisticated control systems for specialized industrial equipment. You'll work on PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and electrical panel design while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The position requires a balance of hands-on technical expertise and collaboration with mechanical and process engineering teams to deliver tailored automation solutions.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement hardware/software control systems for advanced industrial equipment.
- Program PLCs and HMIs using Ladder Logic, Function Blocks, and Structured Text.
- Integrate sensors, vacuum systems, and gas delivery components into control architecture.
- Design electrical control panels to NFPA and UL standards using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and validation for performance and safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues during design, manufacturing, and deployment.
- Optimize control algorithms for process stability and product quality.
- Prepare technical documentation, including test results and operation manuals.
- Provide technical support and training for clients during installation and operation.
- Contribute to R&D initiatives for next-generation automation solutions.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, preferably in thermal processing or OEM equipment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Eurotherm) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet).
- Strong skills in AutoCAD Electrical and knowledge of NFPA standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with motion control, PID tuning, and vacuum/gas system
