VP, FIG Credit Risk
The Vice President will serve as a senior credit professional responsible for evaluating credit applications across a broad range of financial institution counterparties in the Americas. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, a solid grounding in accounting and finance, and the ability to assess complex elements of credit risk. The VP will prepare clear, executive-level summaries and recommendations to support credit decision-making.

Credit Assessment
- Perform in‑depth analysis of credit risk for transactions involving financial institutions, including banks, broker‑dealers, insurance companies, funds, asset managers, and structured counterparties.
- Review counterparty strength, transaction structure, terms and conditions, business rationale, profitability, and overall relationship strategy.
- Evaluate counterparty creditworthiness and assess how each transaction aligns with internal risk appetite.
Executive Summaries & Recommendations
- Prepare polished written assessments summarizing the credit merits, risks, and key considerations of front‑office submissions.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior credit management in a clear and concise manner.
Approval Process & Stakeholder Coordination
- Facilitate the credit approval process by coordinating between front‑office teams and credit management.
- Provide guidance to front‑office teams to ensure credit applications are thorough and aligned with internal standards.
- Monitor credit quality across assigned counterparties and transactions on an ongoing basis.
Governance, Compliance & Monitoring
- Ensure all credit applications meet applicable regulatory expectations and internal policy requirements.
- Participate in credit-related projects, process enhancements, or other assignments as needed.
- Maintain up‑to‑date awareness of sector trends and emerging risks within the financial institutions landscape.
Profile
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- 5-7 years of credit experience in financial services, including at least 3-5 years covering financial institutions.
- Strong foundation in accounting, finance, and the FI sector, with familiarity across a range of financial products.
- Ability to quickly digest complex credit applications and produce clear written summaries.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, multiple priorities, and time‑sensitive requests.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a collaborative work style.
