CNC Manufacturing - Manufacturing Engineer - Webster, MA
The Manufacturing Engineer will be engaged throughout the entire sales process, providing value-engineering solutions from initial inquiry to final shipment. Responsibilities include developing estimates, coordinating bid documentation, offering design input, and proposing process layouts. As part of the engineering team, this role supports customer applications and helps carry orders through to production, while driving continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality compliance.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical and sales liaison for customers during quoting, product development, and application stages.
- Collaborate with sales to pursue leads and identify upselling opportunities.
- Communicate customer requirements across departments such as Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Management.
- Analyze engineering drawings to define manufacturing sequences ensuring design intent and quality.
- Recommend design changes to enhance manufacturability.
- Lead or contribute to projects based on customer inquiries.
- Prepare cost estimates incorporating process routings and lead times.
- Work with external vendors to develop or improve processes.
- Propose cost reduction and quality improvement solutions.
- Support Quality Department in resolving internal and external issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and cross-functional machining process improvements.
- Actively engage in team meetings and customer partnerships.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years experience in machining or manufacturing production environment.
- Preferred experience in project management, product management, engineering, or production.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and knowledgeable in GD&T.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Global Shop).
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
- Self-motivated, able to take ownership and drive projects to completion.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented and results-driven problem solver.
