Description
- Lead the electrical and systems engineering strategy across new product development and existing product lines.
- Own electrical architecture, detailed design, integration and verification for complex electromechanical medical devices.
- Provide technical leadership to internal teams and external design partners, ensuring alignment with project, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Drive hands‑on development activities including prototyping, testing, design reviews and design transfer to manufacturing.
- Establish design requirements, specifications and documentation packages including DFMEA, test protocols and release documentation.
- Define and execute verification and validation strategies using internal resources and third‑party test laboratories.
- Support manufacturing through development of test methods, fixtures and process controls, and by managing contract manufacturing partners.
- Investigate field and quality issues, determine root cause and implement effective corrective actions.
- Set departmental objectives, manage budgets, project plans and schedules, and ensure delivery against business goals.
- Recruit, mentor and develop senior‑level engineers, supporting performance management and long‑term capability building.
Profile
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's level).
- Extensive experience designing and delivering electrical systems for regulated medical devices.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams within an R&D environment.
- Strong knowledge of medical device standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. IEC 60601).
- Demonstrated capability across digital and analogue design, power management, battery systems and embedded electromechanical platforms.
- Experience leading complex projects from early concept through verification, manufacturing support and commercial release.
- Confident communicator able to influence cross‑functional stakeholders and external partners.
- Hands‑on, proactive leader who balances strategic thinking with practical execution
