Description
The Business Unit Leader is responsible for:
- Championing a strong safety-first culture by reinforcing company policies, standards, and core values across all operations.
- Providing strategic leadership to a multi-disciplinary team, driving alignment, accountability, and high-performance execution.
- Leading long-range planning, annual budgeting, capital strategy, and workforce planning to support sustainable growth.
- Overseeing major project pursuits and execution from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring excellence in risk, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Driving consistency in project controls, including cost forecasting, CPM scheduling, change management, and KPI-based performance tracking.
- Building and strengthening relationships with clients, engineers, regulators, and partners to expand market presence and support business development.
- Attracting, developing, and retaining top talent while optimizing organizational structure, processes, and overall operational performance.
- Leading and overseeing 200+ employees across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.
Profile
The right candidate has the following qualifications:
- 15+ years of leadership experience in gas utility distribution, site work, heavy civil, renewable energy, or large-scale infrastructure construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field; advanced degree or executive training preferred.
- Strong background in field operations, complex project delivery, and multi-project portfolio management with full P&L responsibility.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale construction programs ($25M-$100M+) across DBB, DB, CM/GC, and EPC delivery models.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with clients, engineers, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Advanced project controls expertise, including cost forecasting, CPM scheduling, risk and change management, and KPI tracking.
- Broad technical knowledge across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and utility infrastructure.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to lead high-performing teams and influence cross-functional initiatives.
- Proficiency with construction technology platforms, including Primavera P6, Procore, COINS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain), valid U.S. driver's license, and ability to pass required screenings.
