Assistant Controller - Private Credit
(Confidential Global Asset Manager)
Overview

A leading alternative investment manager is seeking an Assistant Controller to support its expanding private credit platform. This individual will play a core role in financial reporting, valuation oversight, and credit‑focused fund accounting across a variety of private credit strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support quarterly and annual financial reporting for private credit funds, including investor packages, financial statements, and capital account reporting.
Manage NAV oversight, reviewing valuations, pricing inputs, accruals, and complex credit instrument activity.
Oversee capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, and performance/fee calculations.
Review and interpret deal-level activity, working closely with investment teams on new credit transactions, structures, and waterfall implications.
Coordinate with third‑party administrators, valuation agents, credit facility providers, and internal legal/compliance functions.
Support audits and tax processes by preparing schedules, resolving inquiries, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, internal reporting, and process improvements across the credit platform.
Help enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and workflow efficiencies as the platform continues to scale.

Profile

  • 7+ years of experience in private credit, private equity, or alternative fund accounting.
  • Strong understanding of credit instruments, valuations, NAV processes, and waterfall/fee calculations.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP; prior exposure to BDCs or regulated fund structures is beneficial.
  • Background in fund administration, asset management, or a Big 4/Top 10 audit firm supporting private credit clients is highly valued.
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with investment teams, operations, auditors, and service providers.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast‑growing, high‑performance alternatives environment.
