VP, Associate General Counsel
The VP, Associate General Counsel will be an integral member of the client's legal team, taking ownership of a wide range of commercial real estate transactional matters for the REIT.

The VP, Associate General Counsel will report directly to the Deputy GC and will be responsible for a wide range of commercial real estate transactional legal matters for the REIT, including:
- Prepare, review and negotiate multiple real estate related contracts including retail leases, ground leases, guaranties, license agreements, brokerage agreement, utility and other easements, settlement agreements and access agreements, and purchase and sale agreements.
- Advise on acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures.
- Prepare, review and negotiate construction, architectural and services agreements.
- Provide research, legal analysis and advice to the Company's internal leasing and development teams regarding entitlements, use restrictions, exclusives and other considerations across the Company's portfolio, with a view towards development and redevelopment, including mixed-use development.
- Provide research, legal analysis and advice to the Company's property management and property accounting functions.
Profile
- JD from a top US law school
- Admitted to practice in NY
- 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney handling a wide range of real estate transactions and leasing matters pertaining to REITs, specifically within the retail/mixed-use asset class
- Must have current in-house experience, ideally combined with prior experience at a top law firm
- Experience with shopping center and mall retail leases, acquisitions, dispositions, JVs, development, construction, general corporate legal matters, contracts, etc.
- Team player with ability to work autonomously
Job Offer
- Competitive base salary between $245,000-$285,000
