Project Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in public works construction to lead and oversee multiple projects across the State of Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing municipal, state, or federally funded construction projects.

Description
Project Leadership & Execution
- Manage all phases of public works construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Oversee daily project activities and provide leadership to project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Ensure project compliance with CT Department of Transportation (CTDOT) standards, local municipal codes, and contract specifications.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
Financial & Contract Management
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and progress reports.
- Review and negotiate subcontractor and vendor agreements.
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and project documentation in accordance with public and municipal contract requirements.
- Ensure adherence to state and federal procurement, prevailing wage, and reporting standards (including Davis-Bacon and CT prevailing wage laws).
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, municipal leaders, and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct project meetings, progress updates, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with clients and project partners to support repeat business and long-term growth.
Safety & Quality Control
- Promote and enforce safety standards in accordance with OSHA, company policy, and project-specific requirements.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure all work meets plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and workmanship.

Profile
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of project management experience with a focus on public works / municipal projects
- Proven success managing multiple projects ranging from $1M to $5MM
- Strong working knowledge of construction scheduling, cost control, contract administration, and field operations.
- Proficiency with Procore
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
