AI Data Engineer - Contract

We are seeking an AI Data Engineer to support a growing AI-focused data engineering team, responsible for designing and building data models, pipelines, and ETL processes using Python. Description

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, SQL queries, and Python scripts to support AI and data initiatives, including ETL and data processing.
• Build and support AI-related applications and services, including backend logic and contributions to Python-based front-end interfaces.
• Collaborate on AWS-based data infrastructure, using S3 for data storage and AWS Glue for ETL pipeline development.
• Plan and deliver project work end to end, including scoping, estimation, risk management, production support, and removal of delivery blockers.

Profile

• 4+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, with strong Python and PySpark development for ETL and data processing.
• Experience building data solutions on AWS, including services such as S3, Glue, RDS, Lambda, Kafka (MSK), Step Functions, and EKS.
• Strong SQL and database expertise across relational systems, including performance tuning, data modeling, and advanced query development.
• Proven experience with system design, CI/CD tooling, and Agile/Scrum delivery, with a solid foundation in data warehousing and analytics best practices.

This role can only accomodate w2 arrangements. Please note that candidates must be local to Charlotte, North Carolina - there will be an onsite interview component.
