Senior Controls Engineer- Battery- Bedford, MA
The Senior Controls Engineer will be a key individual in the automation development and practices in exciting time of a start up organization bringing a unique product to market.
Client Details
The start up manufacturer recently received their Series A funding to continue to make vast progressions on their product in an area and space that continues to expand and gain momentum.
Description
The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for:
- Develop and program PLCs, SCADA systems, and HMIs to optimize automation and control processes.
- Work with engineers to define system requirements, implement control strategies, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure control system alignment and support commissioning of new projects.
- Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting to maintain reliable system functionality.
- Document control system designs, manage SQL databases, and utilize Python for automation and data analysis.
Profile
The successful Senior Controls Engineer will have MOST of what follows:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial controls and automation, including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and sensors.
- Strong understanding of industrial networks, communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP), and SCADA platforms (preferably Ignition).
- Experience with HMI development, SQL databases, Python scripting, and troubleshooting technical challenges.
- Ability to interpret and modify electrical schematics while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
