Project Manager - Public Works Construction - Irvine

Michael Page Irvine, CA (Onsite) Full-Time
$120,000 - $150,000/Year

Working closely with a site superintendent, you will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Construction Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.

We are a public works general contractor that focuses on projects in Orange County.

Description

  1. Project Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.

  2. Budget Management: Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and provide regular financial reports to senior management. Identify cost-saving opportunities.

  3. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, including subcontractors, to achieve project goals. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  4. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.

  5. Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.

  6. Resource Allocation: Allocate resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet project milestones.

  7. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets or exceeds quality standards and specifications.

  8. Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and that the project complies with all relevant regulations.

  9. Change Management: Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and budget, and communicate these changes to stakeholders.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on Public Works construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex construction projects.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and permitting processes in Santa Barbara.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • PMP or related certification is a plus.
