Lead Estimator - Director of Preconstruction

Description

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial projects (ground-up and interiors)

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and subcontractor bids to determine project scope and cost

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients during the preconstruction phase

• Lead budgeting efforts from schematic design through final construction documents

• Maintain historical cost data and develop unit pricing standards

• Identify and mitigate cost risks and opportunities throughout the estimating process

Profile

• 10+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction (retail, office, hospitality, etc.)

• Proven ability to work with conceptual and detailed plans to build comprehensive estimates

• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, materials, and building codes

• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

• Proficient with estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or Sage Estimating)

• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
