Senior Estimator
As a Senior Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for leading the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of construction projects, including ground-up multifamily developments, industrial warehouses, and complex tenant improvement work. You will play a key role in preconstruction planning, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring proposals meet budgetary and schedule expectations.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and detailed estimates for multifamily, warehouse, and TI projects.
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop detailed cost breakdowns.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients during the preconstruction phase to develop cost-effective solutions.
Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring scope alignment and competitiveness.
Participate in value engineering exercises and propose cost-saving alternatives when applicable.
Conduct quantity takeoffs using estimating software and Excel-based tools.
Lead internal estimate reviews and present estimates to management and clients.
Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing for future use.
Assist in the preparation of proposal documents, bid packages, and scope narratives.
Mentor junior estimators and support staff as needed.
Profile
Qualifications:
5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction with a focus on multifamily, warehouse, and/or tenant improvement projects.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
Proficient in estimating software such as Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, or On-Screen Takeoff.
Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building systems, and sequencing.
Excellent knowledge of current market pricing, subcontractor capabilities, and industry trends.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in estimating.
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working on projects ranging from $2M to $50M+
Design-build project experience is a plus
Local subcontractor and vendor relationships in [your region]
LEED, DBIA, or other relevant certifications are a plus
