Quality Engineer / Lead

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality and process efficiency within a precision manufacturing environment. This role drives inspection, validation, and continuous improvement efforts to meet strict compliance and performance standards.

Description

  • Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to validate dimensional accuracy and product compliance.
  • Execute and document First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with internal and AS9102 standards.
  • Lead and support process validation for new products, tooling, and manufacturing changes.
  • Perform root cause analysis on nonconformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and process variation.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and implement systemic improvements.
  • Maintain quality documentation including inspection reports, control plans, NCRs, and FMEAs.
  • Support ISO 9001 quality system compliance through audits, documentation, and process control activities.
  • Inspect incoming materials and finished assemblies to ensure adherence to specifications.

Profile

  • 3-5 years of quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and dimensional inspection techniques.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and knowledge of Six Sigma principles preferred.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a hands‑on, detail‑oriented approach.
