HR Assistant
As the Human Resources assistant, you will support the the on boarding, off boarding and background initiations. Reporting directly to the HR Operations Director.
Client Details
A highly reputable Criminal justice Non-profit organization, based in Mid-town Manhattan.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Support the administrative needs of the Center's People Department.
- Assist with personnel on-boarding, including creating personnel files and completing any required background tests and drug tests.
- Maintain employee personnel files.
- Maintain applicant tracking system users.
- Maintain oversight and responses to People Department mail.
- Respond to all employee requests for employment verification, including for Center-related identification and Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
- Oversee HR-related invoice submissions, contract submissions and amendments.
- Support the HR department in staying compliant with various NYS laws.
- Conduct research for special projects, as needed.
- Other duties as needed.
Profile
- High school degree + 2 years' of relevant work experience is required.
- The ideal candidate will have training or experience in human resources.
- This position requires an outgoing, detail-oriented person who can multi-task and get things done efficiently.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills required.
- Candidate must be a skilled communicator able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, maintain collaborative relationships, and work well with colleagues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
