Lead Superintendent - Large Scale Projects
The Lead Superintendent - Large Scale Projects will oversee and manage all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and organizational skills in the construction field.

Our client is a leading construction management firm specializing in large-scale commercial, residential, and institutional developments. Known for their commitment to quality, safety, and collaboration, they manage projects from pre-construction through closeout with a hands-on approach.
With projects typically ranging from $50M to $200M+, they have earned a strong reputation for delivering complex mixed-use developments on time and with exceptional attention to detail. Their success is built on long-standing partnerships with developers, architects, and subcontractors.
They are currently seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee and take full ownership of a major mixed-use project in Northern Virginia.
Description
The Lead Superintendent - Large Scale Projects candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading all day‑to‑day on‑site construction operations for a large‑scale mixed‑use project, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Managing and overseeing Assistant Superintendents, field engineers, and superintendents while providing mentorship and direction to the field team
- Coordinating all subcontractors, vendors, and trades to maintain efficient sequencing, productivity, and site logistics
- Enforcing compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and company safety standards
- Running daily site meetings and safety briefings while maintaining a clean, organized, and secure job site
- Working closely with the Project Manager, ownership, architects, and engineers to proactively resolve field issues
- Developing and maintaining look‑ahead schedules and ensuring all phasing milestones are achieved
- Overseeing quality control efforts, inspections, punch lists, and final turnover
- Managing material deliveries, site access, cranes, hoisting, and logistics plans for a complex urban build
- Serving as the primary on‑site point of contact for clients and project stakeholder
- Maintaining accurate site documentation including daily reports, progress photos, and inspection records
Profile
A successful Lead Superintendent - Large Scale Projects candidate should have:
- 10+ years of experience in a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent role
- Strong experience delivering large‑scale mixed‑use, multifamily, or commercial projects ($50M-$200M+)
- Background in wood‑frame, podium, concrete, and/or steel construction
- Proven ability to lead large field teams and manage multiple trades simultaneously
- Deep understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics for complex urban projects
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
