The Electrical Automation Engineer will design, program, and implement custom automation systems that enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate will take projects from concept through commissioning, working hands-on with controls, robotics, and electrical systems.

Description

This Electrical Automation Engineer will:

  • Design, program, and test custom automated machinery to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD tools.
  • Perform load calculations, power analyses, and ensure compliance with NFPA, UL, and IEC standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation and controls issues using diagnostic equipment.
  • Support equipment procurement, vendor coordination, and system qualification.
  • Prepare and update technical documentation, SOPs, and validation protocols.
  • Manage project timelines, scope, and budgets while communicating progress.
  • Conduct risk assessments and design reviews (FMEA).
  • Design and wire control panels and select appropriate electrical components.

Profile

A successful Electrical Automation Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred).
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in automation, controls, or product/process development.
  • Proficiency with PLC/motion control systems, servo drives, robotics, and vision systems.
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70/79, UL 508A, and IEC standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and wire electrical control panels and select components.
  • Experience performing risk assessments and FMEA.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills using diagnostic tools.
