This role will be responsible for overseeing the production and assembly of power systems components, ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient, safe, and of high quality. Description
The Senior Manufacturing Technician - Power Systems will be responsible for the following:
- Manufacturing & Assembly: Oversee and participate in the assembly, testing, and inspection of power systems components. Ensure that all products meet specifications and quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving manufacturing processes, including reducing cycle times, improving product quality, and increasing efficiency. Implement process improvements in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues with manufacturing equipment and processes. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery to minimize downtime.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections and tests on assembled products to ensure they meet industry standards and customer specifications. Identify and address any quality issues in the manufacturing process.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing technicians, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of manufacturing activities, including work orders, production reports, and quality control documentation. Report on production performance and suggest improvements.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. Provide feedback on product design and manufacturability.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of parts and materials needed for manufacturing. Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely availability of required components.
Profile
The ideal Senior Manufacturing Technician - Power Systems will have the following qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in the power systems or related industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of power systems components.
- Proven experience in process improvement and quality control within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical skills, with proficiency in using and maintaining manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Knowledge of power generation and distribution systems, including transformers, generators, and switchgear.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to power systems manufacturing (e.g., ISO 9001, IEC standards).
- Certification in relevant technical areas (e.g., IPC-A-610 for electronic assemblies, AWS certification for welding).
Job Offer
The successful Senior Manufacturing Technician - Power System will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $50,000-$80,000 depending on experience
- PTO
