Financial Controller

A fast-growing retail company focused is seeking a highly capable Financial Controller to lead its core accounting and financial operations. This role is essential in driving accurate reporting, strengthening financial controls, and supporting scalable growth across direct-to-consumer and omnichannel platforms.

Description

• Oversee all accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, expense management, and sales tax filings.

• Lead the month-end close process and prepare quarterly financial reporting packages.

• Coordinate internal reporting, tax accounting, and external reviews with auditors and consultants.

• Implement and maintain accounting policies and internal control procedures to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

• Manage relationships with financial institutions, including credit line administration, foreign exchange solutions, and asset-based lending facilities.

• Contribute to systems upgrades and ERP implementation projects, with a focus on automation, data accuracy, and process efficiency.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification highly preferred

• 5-8+ years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management

• Industry experience in eCommerce, consumer products, retail, or DTC businesses

• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation

• Proficiency with accounting systems and ERP platforms

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Hands-on experience managing or supporting asset-based lending arrangements

• Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work cross-functionally and influence effectively
