Assistant Estimator

A Miami-based General Contractor specializing in high-end commercial interiors is seeking an Assistant Estimator to support the preconstruction and estimating team. Description

• Assist in preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings

• Review architectural and engineering plans to help determine scope and cost implications

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor quotes and proposals

• Maintain accurate and organized estimate files and bid documents

• Help track project budgets and support preconstruction efforts with the estimating and project management teams

• Attend job walks and pre-bid meetings as needed

Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in estimating, ideally with a GC focused on commercial interiors

• Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar)

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Team-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to take initiative

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
