Manufacturing Accounting Manager - CT
This is a hands-on operational accounting role that requires strength in product cost accounting and inventory management in a manufacturing environment. This role requires a finance leader who is equally comfortable on the plant floor investigating production variances as they are creating and analyzing detailed balance sheet reconciliations. The role reports to the Strip Finance Director.

A specialty metal products manufacturer produces a diverse range of products and are used in industries all over the globe. The company provides high-quality products and services to customers and works in partnership with a number of providers. The specific Business Unit that is hiring operates manufacturing plants in two locations, and is looking for an Accounting Manager who can seamlessly transition into this exciting opportunity.
Description
- Accountable for product costing and profitability analyses by customer and product line
- Responsible for all inventory management in relation to valuation (bill of materials, standard costs and overhead rates), physical count accuracy and provisions for excess & obsolete inventory
- Responsible for the sites weekly/monthly orders, sales, profit and working capital forecasts
- Assist in the completion of the annual operating budget
- Providing financial leadership that leads to improved working capital management
- Complete monthly account reconciliations of all Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
- Responsible for all cash management activities within the site
- Responsible for the reporting and improvement of various Key Performance Indicators (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash)
- Oversee all compliance with both Internal & External Audit
Profile
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or current pursuit of this degree required
- 5+ years manufacturing or operational accounting experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Navision and/or Hyperion Financial Management is a plus
- An assignment as a plant accountant or cost accountant highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency with office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
