The Director of Accounting is a newly created role designed to oversee financial leadership duties and report directly to the President. This position will oversee the firm's financial operations, including HR, cash management, banking relationships, and tax coordination, while leading a team responsible for contracts, change orders, payroll, and more. With a clear pathway to potentially succeed the President, this role is perfect for an experienced construction Controller/Finance Leader who's eager to make a significant impact on a growing business. The Director of Accounting will sit in the York, PA area.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial functions including HR, cash management, banking relationships, and year-end tax coordination with external accountants.
- Lead a team managing contracts, change orders, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and long-term goals.
- Collaborate closely with the President and senior leadership to drive business performance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards while continuously seeking process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounting and finance, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Expertise in cash management, HR oversight, and relationship management with external banking and financial partners.
- CPA or similar certification preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, proactive mindset, and a commitment to long-term growth within the company.

The ideal candidate for the Director of Accounting is an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in construction finance. The Director of Accounting should have proven leadership skills, with the ability to oversee and develop a team handling contracts, change orders, bookkeeping, and payroll. A deep understanding of cash management, banking relationships, HR processes, and tax coordination is essential. The candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of driving financial strategies that align with the company's growth goals. A CPA or similar certification is preferred, and the candidate must be comfortable working on site in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
